Data collection and protection details
Overview
alee is a product and engineering partner and is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. PostHog acts as our analytics and session replay processor when you choose to allow optional analytics.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and limited technical data needed to operate, secure, and improve the site. Essential service and security data is used to provide the site, protect the AI chat, prevent abuse, and respond to requests. Optional PostHog analytics and replay data is collected only after you accept analytics cookies.
Contact Form
We collect your name, email address, and project details so we can respond to your enquiry. We do not connect this information to cookie-based tracking.
AI Chat Conversations
The AI assistant keeps conversation context while the current page remains open. We store chat logs to improve and secure the system. Those logs and security events may be linked to an anonymous chat session, persistent AI browser ID, IP address or subnet, user agent, country signal, hashed browser fingerprints, risk flags, bot or abuse signals, limited message previews, and message hashes. These records help us rate limit, pause, block, investigate, and support AI chat use; they are not linked to your real-world identity unless you provide contact details.
Analytics and Performance
If you accept analytics cookies, we use PostHog to collect page URL and path, referrer, browser and device details, approximate location or IP-derived data, pageviews, pageleave and scroll-depth information, Core Web Vitals, and metadata-only AI agent analytics. We use this consent-based data to improve site reliability, performance, user experience, and AI assistant quality. We do not send chat transcripts, prompts, or assistant responses to PostHog.
Session Replay
If you accept analytics cookies, PostHog may record masked session replays on the public site. We do not record admin or authentication pages. Inputs are masked, AI chat transcripts are blocked from replay capture, and sensitive query parameters are redacted before replay data is sent. PostHog Cloud US processes this analytics data on our behalf, and IP anonymization is enabled.
Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies for basic functionality, performance preferences, and AI chat security. Optional PostHog analytics and session replay run only after you accept analytics cookies. You can change your analytics choice on the Cookie Policy page.
AI Model Processing
alee uses hosted AI infrastructure for chat responses. The infrastructure provider does not retain chat inputs or outputs for training, and we do not share contact form submissions for AI training. Access to stored chat logs is limited to the internal alee team.
Data Retention
We retain chat logs and AI chat security records for system improvement, abuse prevention, service protection, support, and communication. PostHog session recordings are retained for up to 30 days, and other PostHog analytics are retained according to the project and account settings. We may recognize the same browser across page loads for security, but we may not be able to identify the real person behind an anonymous session.
Your Rights
Contact [email protected] to request access, deletion, correction, or to ask privacy questions. You can withdraw analytics consent on the Cookie Policy page at any time. We may not be able to delete past data from anonymous chat sessions when we cannot reliably match the records to you.
